Well a lot has happened in the last two weeks and I haven't taken the time to update anyone, I was just planning on waiting til all of the major changes were in effect and as of today they are, so per Sarah, I'm "putting it on my blog."
On November 20, Knighton Vision went out of business. I worked there for just over 3 years, and unexpectedly they closed their doors which forced me to find another job. I loved Knighton and I loved working with my cousin Melissa, so I was very hard to leave what I knew and what I was comfortable with.
I don't really think there could be a more inconvenient time to lose my job, right before the Holidays, but early the next morning, I updated my resume (which means, I basically started from scratch, the last resume I did was 3 1/2 years old...haha).
I started looking and found some great opportunites almost right away. I got an offer at an Ophthalmologist's office here in Provo, Argento in the mall called me up and said I could go work there again, and I interviewed and Goldsmith Co. Jewelers down on University Ave in Provo. Then Melissa called me up and said that she was opening her own store and she would love it if I would work with her.
After a lot of fasting and prayer I made my decision and then I had to call up the other places and tell them that I'd picked something different. I am now working at Goldsmith Co. Jewelers. I feel like this was the best choice for me given the pay, the hours, and my school schedule. It being 3 minutes away from my apartment was also a huge plus.
So today was the first day of my new job. I really enjoy the people that I'll be working with, and even though I felt like a little retard today cuz I couldn't do anything on my own, I think that once I get the hang of things, I'll do really well and have fun.
Finals are coming up, so I'm preparing to finish classes and end the semester with a flair. As mom and dad can tell you (I told them about my procrastination issues... haha), the next two weeks will be full of cramming and sleep deprivation. But I'll be ok. I don't think failing any classes is on the menu, but decent grades might be!
On a happier note, I've been having a lot of fun with my ward friends! BYU football , intramural soccer tournaments, Halloween, friend's birthday dinners, and the first snow are just some of the things that we do. Not to mention our cute Christmas decorations, our practical jokes, and our hours of talking and laughing and crying.
Wish me luck!!!
