countdown

dallin vs the radiator

today i'm bragging about my awesome fiance dallin. he's seriously the best!

this past week, i took my car into the shop and found out that i needed a new radiator. the repair was really expensive and i was worrying about it, but it needed to be done. well dallin talked to his dad and we decided that we should try to do it ourselves. we found a place that would repair the radiator if we could get it in and out of the car.
so thursday afternoon i drove up to dal's house and we got to work. about 4 hours later with grease, coolant, and freon in our hair, we were done! i was really impressed with us and the next morning, we dropped the radiator off at the repair shop and then dallin drove me down to work.
he called me on my lunch break and said that he was picking up the radiator. i was tired just thinking about putting it back in the car. i figured it would be harder than taking it out, but it needed to be done, and it would save a lot of money, so i was happy to put the work in.
about 2 hours later, dal text me and said he was all done! he'd got the radiator in and all hooked up!
(and i felt a little silly. i'm pretty sure he was just indulging me by letting me help take it out since he put it back in in half the time, hahaha.)
so instead of being a $400 repair, it cost us only $150.
i'm so grateful to him to taking time out of his busy day to really help me out. not everyone would do that!

but stay back girls. he's mine! :)

snow in april

this was what i woke up to this past thursday. april 16th. half-way through april! egad!

my mom is the greatest!

i know, i know. you all think your mom is cooler than mine, but it just isn't true!
my mom is amazing! i've always known this and appreciated it, but it's been really amazing to have her here to basically do everything for the wedding. she works so hard to make sure that everything goes just the way i want.

this morning we went shopping and she bought me sheets for our bed, an awesome set of dishes and a temple dress. then we came home and she worked some more on my wedding dress! she is such an amazing seamstress, she can sew anything! for my dress, i drew a sketch of what i wanted and she took a bunch of patterns, pieced them together and the dress looks even better than what i had in mind! it's amazing. i tried it on last night and wanted to keep it on until dallin got to my house so he could see it, but obviously mom wouldn't let me, because it would have ruined the surprise

so, anyways, here is a shout out to my mom. thanks so much for all the hard work you do to take care of us everyday and for all the work on the wedding. i'm just imagining having to plan this and do everything on my own and it makes me start to hyperventilate. so thanks again! i love you so much!

engagement pictures

so last saturday dal & i had our engagement pictures taken. dal's best friend steve took the pictures and we are so happy with them. we took the pictures down at the old railroad station in lehi and the buildings around that.
here are a few of our favorites:

thanks steve! and thanks alana for being his wonderful assistant!

the search is over

we found an apartment! dal's cousins jake and tyra own this little red brick complex and they found an opening for us! it's just off of center street and vine street in murray. our apartment is the one on the top left.

the big news that everyone already knows about

haha, well it's been about a month since i posted last, and i'm usually better about that. life is crazy always, but it seems like this last month has been even crazier! i'm almost embarrassed to post now since it's been as long as it has, but if jana can make a killer comeback, i can at least try to make a normal comeback :)

so the big news. haha. you already know.

dallin proposed on feb 21st, and we're getting married on may 1st! (may day. or mayday. take that how you will...) the day he proposed, he took me out to lunch at cafe rio (you know berk would approve if she were here) and then after work we went for a ride on his ruckus (which we have lots of memories on) and rode down to the park where he kissed me for the first time. at this point, i had no idea what he was planning, but we were driving around and saw some flowers on one of the benches. he said, "hey, i think those are for you!" and i said "no they aren't, some poor girl probably just left them here." and he tried to convince me that they were mine, but i didn't believe him until he said, "i'm pretty sure they're yours, because they're from ME." haha. well, we walked over to the spot where he had first kissed me and he told me he loved me and asked if i would marry him! i sat there SMILING huge and just looking at him. after about ten seconds (if you ask him, he'll say it was at least a minute) he said, "PLEASE SAY YES." so i laughed and said "yes, of course!"

we are so excited to be getting married (it's 57 days away, and no of course we haven't been counting down for months...) and start this new adventure!

"pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light"

words to the song stuck in my head. i love this song by regina spector- the call. from narnia. i love it.

and i'm craving sushi. like usual. the las vegas roll. or tuna sushi. mmmm.

well it's saturday afternoon. i didn't get enough homework done this week (nothing new...) and i probably won't get anything done til monday morning. so for now i'm just sitting at work, taking a break from insurance billing to check blogs and start the countdown til i'm off work.

oh! here are a few pics from the Coldplay concert back in november. i meant to post pictures ages ago, but obviously didn't. ash gave me her extra ticket, so we went up early and i took her out for sushi. then we met up with dallin and his best friend steve once we were there. chris martin is amazing!

waiting to get in to happy sumo. we went to Anthropology and had fun perusing:

the one and only chris martin:

hmmm... this skipped around a lot. sometimes i think i have ADHD. i can't sit still for more than a minute. i change subjects in the middle of a conversation. i can't listen to an entire song on my ipod, because i get bored with it, so i skip to the next one. my mind is always running at a million miles an hour. i heard a funny joke today that goes like this: uh.... nevermind, i forgot.

p.s. if you could use a laugh:

i see a different car in this same spot every day!

not enough time

between 17 credits, working about 25 hours a week, getting all of my homework done i'm totally swamped. and that's not even counting all the time i would like to spend with dallin! but life is good! i couldn't be happier.

love to all

Calligraphy

I took a calligraphy class last semester, and this was my final project. I was SO nervous as I was drawing the last line of lettering, afraid I would mess up and the previous three or four HOURS would go to waste, but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out!
This isn't the best picture, but at least it gives you an idea.

(And yes, I'm more than a little bit bitter about the C+ grade I received on it...)

i want a jeep

i couldn't decide if this guy just really needed to find a parking spot fast or was trying to show off. what do you think?

(i love having a camera phone, it provides so much entertainment!)

semester #10

my last semester of college has officially begun! to say i'm excited might be understating things a bit. i am stoked! this semester has brought a few changes.
i'm living at home in lehi now (for many reasons that i don't feel like explaining) and it's been super great so far.
it's been nice being in lehi for several reasons. i love seeing my parentals everyday, i love being twice as close to dallin (25 minutes instead of 50, 22 miles instead of 43.... no i haven't been keeping track or anything...), and it's a change of scene from provo.
i'm also signed up for 17 credits this semester, so that will be an interesting challenge. to date, the most credits i've taken in at a given time was 15 and i'm pretty sure i failed calculus that semester...
so... here's to hoping that group guitar and ceremics are an easy 5 credits :)
