Matt the Cactus

Today in my Korean class, a girl raised her hand just before class started to tell the teacher something.

"I brought my pet cactus to class today! Isn't he cute??"
"That's very interesting," says my professor. "I bet he will be even more attentive than some of the regular students..." Clearly, he was humoring her.
"His name is Matt. The cactus, his name is Matt!"
"...You NAMED the cactus??" he asks incredulously.
"Uh...yeah! He is my pet!"

Two thoughts come to mind: 1) How old are you? and 2) ok......
(Okay, so there are actually several more comments that I thought as well, but in an effort to appear as a somewhat nice person who doesn't make fun of random people, I shall refrain.)

That's a nice picture of Matt. My question now is this: Is the girl in love with the professor or is she in love with some guy named Matt?

the professor's name is mark and i think he's like 65 years old, so i'm pretty sure it isn't him. i think she just really loves her cactus! (the fuzzy thing to her left) she was genuinely and weirdly excited to show the class! i guess there could be a boy named matt, but i wouldn't name my pet chia after the boy i liked and drag it to class...

"Hi this is Matt. Please leave a message. To reach Kati, please stand up and say that you are allergic to Matt the cactus. Then run out of the room screaming. Please send pictures for proof."
